CURIOSITIES
The tufted capuchin is considered one of the smartest monkeys of the New World:
-- They crush up millipedes and rub them on their back as a natural bug repellent.
-- The tufted capuchin knows how to effectively use tools, river stones, in order to crack the shells of fruits. Some of these stones are as heavy as the monkey. While the older capuchins break shells, the younger ones watch and learn.
-- The capuchins are also the only monkeys that, when looking into a mirror, see their reflection not as another individual of its species but as a strange phenomenon. [1]
